Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator – Event to join our dynamic team in West Vancouver. This pivotal role is responsible for the full lifecycle of volunteer management, from recruitment and training to deployment and recognition, ensuring the success of our diverse range of community events.

Your day-to-day will involve developing comprehensive volunteer plans for each event, creating engaging recruitment campaigns, conducting orientation and training sessions, and meticulously managing volunteer schedules. You’ll be the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing ongoing support, encouragement, and clear communication. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategies for various events.
- Manage the volunteer application process, including screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Design and deliver engaging orientation and training programs for all event volunteers.
- Create and manage detailed volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate staffing for all event roles.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing ongoing support, information, and problem-solving during events.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, contact information, and feedback.
- Implement volunteer recognition programs to acknowledge and appreciate their contributions.
- Collaborate closely with event managers and other staff to understand volunteer needs and ensure seamless integration.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement in volunteer programs.
- Ensure all volunteer activities comply with organizational policies and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in volunteer coordination or event management.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage diverse groups of people.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a calm demeanor under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Event Management, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with volunteer management software (e.g., Better Impact, Volgistics).
- Familiarity with the West Vancouver community and local community groups.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
