Job Description

Working overnight, you will be responsible for the initial stages of mail processing, including unloading deliveries, sorting items by destination, and preparing them for onward distribution. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit team. Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming mail, packages, and parcels from delivery vehicles, ensuring safe handling.
- Sort mail items accurately and efficiently into designated bags, trays, or containers based on postal codes and destination points.
- Operate basic mail handling equipment, such as trolleys and conveyors, following safety guidelines.
- Conduct quality checks on sorted mail to identify and correct any errors or misroutes.
- Prepare outgoing mail for dispatch by consolidating, labelling, and loading onto vehicles.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the sorting facility.
- Adhere strictly to company policies, security procedures, and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure operational targets are met.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently during night hours (e.g., 10 PM – 6 AM).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting tasks.
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting and moving mailbags/parcels (up to 20kg).
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read labels and postal codes.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
