Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned parking lots, both on foot and potentially in a company vehicle, to observe and report any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential security threats or incidents.
- Enforce parking regulations, issue warnings, and report violations as necessary to maintain order and proper traffic flow.
- Provide clear directions and assistance to visitors, customers, and employees regarding parking procedures and facility navigation.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, security breaches, or other disturbances, coordinating with emergency services when required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security activities.
- Inspect security equipment, lighting, gates, and access points regularly, reporting any malfunctions or damage.
- Act as a visible deterrent to crime, maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Liaise effectively with management, law enforcement, and other relevant personnel regarding security matters.
- Assist in the opening and closing procedures of parking facilities as directed.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Excellent observational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and system monitoring.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if vehicle patrol is required).
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service or a public-facing role.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of basic security procedures and protocols.
- Completion of a security training program or willingness to obtain relevant certifications (e.g., CT Guard Card).
