Key Responsibilities

  • Assist certified vehicle inspectors with pre-inspection preparations, including accurate vehicle positioning, basic lighting checks, and initial documentation.
  • Perform basic visual inspections of various vehicle components such as tires, fluid levels, lights, wipers, and mirrors, meticulously reporting any findings.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the inspection bay, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional working environment at all times.
  • Support the safe and orderly movement of vehicles within the inspection facility, strictly adhering to all company safety protocols and traffic guidelines.
  • Accurately record and document minor observations and data points as directed by senior inspectors, ensuring all information is clear and precise.
  • Actively learn and strictly adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices related to vehicle inspection and maintenance.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, supervisors, and, when necessary, customers regarding vehicle status and operational needs.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions precisely.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or a demonstrated strong interest in learning about vehicle systems and automotive mechanics.
  • Ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and respectfully within a fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear reporting and interaction.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a commitment to performing tasks thoroughly.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs consistently, and work in various weather conditions common to an automotive inspection facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an automotive service center, car dealership, or related field (e.g., car detailing, lot attendant, general labor) is considered a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and demonstrated ability to operate various vehicle types safely.
