Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and vigilant Night Shift Security Officer to join our team in Sahali, Kamloops, with an immediate start date. This is a critical full-time position responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our client’s premises, assets, and personnel during overnight hours. As a Night Shift Security Officer, you will be the eyes and ears on the ground, deterring criminal activity, responding to incidents, and maintaining a secure environment. We are looking for an individual with exceptional observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently. Your shift will involve regular patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, access control, and comprehensive report writing. This role demands a high level of integrity and a calm demeanor, particularly when handling unexpected situations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of assigned property to deter and detect signs of intrusion or damage.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, for any unusual activity.
- Control access to premises, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter and exit.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, disturbances, and security breaches.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other required documentation.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security and safety.
- Communicate effectively with emergency services, clients, and team members when necessary.
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation of potential threats.
- Perform first aid or CPR if required (training provided/preferred).
- Maintain a visible presence to ensure a secure and safe environment.
Required Skills
- Valid BC Security Worker License.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a security role, preferably night shifts.
- Exceptional observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with basic security equipment (radios, CCTV systems).
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience in customer service or public interaction.
- Knowledge of local bylaws and emergency procedures.
- Previous experience with access control systems.
- Fluency in additional languages.
