Key Responsibilities
- Assist journey-person mechanics with vehicle and equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks including oil changes, lubrication, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- Learn to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various mechanical systems under supervision, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulics.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Accurately document all work performed, parts used, and hours spent on repairs and maintenance.
- Utilize and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Shadow and learn from experienced technicians, asking questions and actively participating in problem-solving.
- Complete assigned training modules and attend relevant courses to enhance mechanical knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in the automotive or heavy equipment industry.
