Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and thorough damage assessments to determine the full extent of collision damage.
- Execute structural and non-structural repairs in accordance with OEM specifications and industry standards.
- Utilize advanced frame and unibody straightening equipment.
- Replace damaged parts, including panels, fenders, doors, and other body components.
- Conduct precise welding, grinding, and sanding operations.
- Prepare vehicles for painting, ensuring surfaces are smooth and ready for finish application.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
- Continuously update technical knowledge through ongoing training and industry certifications.
- Perform quality control checks on all repaired vehicles to ensure the highest standards are met.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in structural and non-structural collision repair techniques.
- Expertise in using frame machines, welding equipment (MIG, resistance spot), and body repair tools.
- Strong understanding of vehicle construction and repair methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret repair manuals, diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform demanding tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- I-CAR Gold Class certification or equivalent.
- Experience with specific OEM repair procedures (e.g., Tesla, BMW, Ford F-150 aluminum).
- Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Audatex, Mitchell).
- Red Seal certification in Automotive Bodywork Technician.
- Experience with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) calibration post-repair.
