Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare journal entries and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation, adhering to company policies and audit requirements.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and analyses as required by senior finance staff.
- Handle expense reports, verifying compliance with company policies and processing reimbursements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, gathering necessary data and inputs.
- Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve financial discrepancies and inquiries.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with an accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle NetSuite)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (ASPE or IFRS)
- Previous experience in a finance operations or administrative role
