Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and passionate High-Performance Engine Builder to join our dynamic team in Inlet Centre, Port Moody. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precision assembly of high-performance internal combustion engines from component level.
  • Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Conduct meticulous measurement, inspection, and balancing of engine components to ensure exact tolerances.
  • Utilize specialized engine building tools and equipment effectively and safely.
  • Perform quality control checks at various stages of the build process.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engine performance issues, making necessary adjustments and repairs.
  • Conduct engine testing, including break-in procedures and dyno tuning, to optimize performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of build sheets, component data, and testing results.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and workshop best practices.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in building and assembling high-performance engines.
  • In-depth knowledge of internal combustion engine theory, components, and systems.
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of engine machining processes and material properties.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant trade certification or degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific engine management systems (ECUs) and dyno tuning software.
  • Familiarity with various racing engine architectures (e.g., forced induction, naturally aspirated, various cylinder configurations).
  • Experience with advanced materials and fabrication techniques (e.g., lightweight alloys, composite materials).
  • Welding and fabrication skills (TIG, MIG).
  • ASE certifications in engine repair or performance.
  • Passion for motorsports and performance automotive.
