You will be responsible for ensuring all electrical systems are installed and maintained safely and efficiently, adhering strictly to the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Plan layouts and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Follow blueprints and electrical diagrams to determine the efficient placement of wiring and fixtures.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Ensure all work is compliant with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and health and safety standards.
  • Provide accurate documentation and reporting of work completed, materials used, and time spent on projects.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  • City & Guilds 2382-18 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience as a qualified Electrician.
  • Proven ability to fault find and rectify electrical issues.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • Experience with commercial and industrial installations.
  • ECS Gold Card or equivalent.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
