Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Plan layouts and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
- Follow blueprints and electrical diagrams to determine the efficient placement of wiring and fixtures.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Ensure all work is compliant with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and health and safety standards.
- Provide accurate documentation and reporting of work completed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2382-18 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience as a qualified Electrician.
- Proven ability to fault find and rectify electrical issues.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification.
- Experience with commercial and industrial installations.
- ECS Gold Card or equivalent.
- First Aid at Work certification.
