Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of production operators during assigned shifts, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor production processes, resolve operational issues, and make real-time adjustments to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain product integrity and prevent defects.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, actively promoting a proactive culture of safety awareness and incident prevention.
  • Manage raw material inventory, equipment utilization, and personnel allocation to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
  • Provide comprehensive training and development opportunities for team members, fostering skill enhancement and career growth within the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with other supervisors and departments (e.g., maintenance, quality control, logistics) to ensure seamless operations and cross-functional synergy.
  • Prepare and analyze detailed production reports, identifying performance trends, root causes of issues, and recommending data-driven improvements.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles, to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.
  • Perform regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to direct reports, supporting their professional development and addressing performance gaps.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in a production supervisory role within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership and exceptional team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing staff.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and industrial safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.
  • Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends) as required by operational demands.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Proficiency in using production management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Management, or a related technical field.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, automotive, aerospace).
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a significant asset for effective communication in Quebec.
  • Demonstrated experience with specific ERP systems relevant to manufacturing operations.
