Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a highly skilled and Certified CNC Operator to enhance our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Montreal. This pivotal role involves operating, setting up, and programming Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery to produce high-quality precision parts. As a Certified CNC Operator, you will be instrumental in ensuring that our production processes adhere to the strictest quality standards and efficiency targets. Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and maintain various CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and grinders, with minimal supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, G-code, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate production.
  • Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as required to maintain part quality and machine efficiency.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or material irregularities and adjust controls as necessary.
  • Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues or material problems, escalating complex issues to maintenance or engineering.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Document production activities, including cycle times, quantities, and quality checks, accurately.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to optimize processes and improve product quality.

Required Skills

  • Certified CNC Operator (recognized certification required).
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience operating multi-axis CNC machines (mills, lathes).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and G-code/M-code.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges).
  • Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
  • Ability to perform basic CNC programming or program editing at the machine control.
  • Forklift operator certification.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prior experience in an ISO 9001 certified environment.
