Successful candidates will demonstrate a proactive attitude towards safety compliance and continuous improvement. You’ll be involved in tasks ranging from sand preparation and core setting to mold assembly, pouring operations, shakeout, and grinding/finishing of castings. This involves significant manual handling, lifting, and operating pneumatic tools and other heavy equipment. Understanding and following complex instructions, both written and verbal, is crucial for maintaining quality control and preventing incidents. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare molds and cores using various sand molding techniques.
- Safely operate and maintain foundry equipment, including furnaces, ladles, and molding machines.
- Assist in pouring molten metal into molds, adhering strictly to safety procedures.
- Perform shakeout and clean castings, removing excess material and risers.
- Grind, chip, and finish castings to meet quality specifications.
- Transport heavy materials and finished products using forklifts, hoists, or manual methods.
- Monitor production processes to identify and resolve potential issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and quality control standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.
