Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility, both indoor and outdoor, to detect and deter security breaches, unauthorized entry, or potential hazards.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, promptly reporting any suspicious activities or system malfunctions.
- Control access to the facility, verifying credentials for all personnel and visitors entering and exiting the premises.
- Respond effectively to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, following established protocols to mitigate risks and ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security activities.
- Provide assistance to employees and visitors, including directions and emergency support, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all individuals on site.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external emergency services as needed during critical situations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security knowledge and skills.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer proficiency for operating security systems and writing reports.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain relevant security licenses/certifications as required by provincial regulations (e.g., Guard Card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service or public-facing role.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of common security procedures and best practices.
