Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Hotel Night Receptionist to join a prestigious hotel team in the vibrant Mottram area of Manchester. In this full-time overnight position, you will be the primary point of contact for all guests, handling late check-ins, early check-outs, and any inquiries or emergencies that may arise. You will be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises, performing essential administrative tasks, and preparing for the incoming day shift, all while upholding the highest standards of hospitality. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests during late check-ins and handle early check-outs efficiently and courteously.
  • Manage all guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular security checks of the premises, including patrols, to ensure the safety and well-being of guests and property.
  • Process end-of-day reports, reconcile accounts, and prepare comprehensive handover notes for the incoming day shift operations.
  • Answer telephone calls, direct them to appropriate departments, or take detailed messages as required.
  • Monitor CCTV systems and respond to any alarms or disturbances with appropriate action and escalation.
  • Assist guests with luggage, taxi bookings, and providing local information upon request.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised reception area at all times, reflecting the hotel's high standards.
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately and securely, maintaining proper accounting procedures.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any emergencies (e.g., fire, medical, security incidents), liaising with management and external services when necessary.
  • Undertake general administrative duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  • Provide wake-up calls and deliver newspapers to guest rooms upon request.
  • Ensure all public areas are presentable and ready for the morning guests.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a polite and professional telephone manner.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software (e.g., Opera, Fidelio, Mews) or similar PMS systems.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making under pressure, with a calm demeanour.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during quiet and busy periods of the night shift.
  • High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and attention to detail.
  • Basic IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) to a high standard.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a customer service or reception role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Night Receptionist or in a similar overnight hospitality role.
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, transport links, and amenities in Manchester and the surrounding area.
  • Additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience with basic security protocols and CCTV monitoring.
