Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist them to their tables.
- Present menus, inform guests of daily specials, and answer questions about menu items.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, using our POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, ensuring presentation standards.
- Clear tables swiftly, reset dining areas, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks or plating as needed, ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Handle guest inquiries, special requests, and resolve minor complaints with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service.
- Process payments and handle cash/card transactions accurately, managing a till.
- Restock cutlery, condiments, napkins, and other dining essentials proactively as required.
- Support inventory management by assisting with deliveries, stock rotation, and supply levels.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a dynamic team setting.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in terms of cleanliness, order accuracy, and guest needs.
- Flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per restaurant schedule.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting (e.g., waiting, bar work, host/hostess).
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., Level 1 Food Hygiene certificate).
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems for order entry and payment processing.
