Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
- Prepare, analyse, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant financial regulations.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during annual audits and tax preparations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff, fostering professional development.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modelling).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
