Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities, to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and professional development programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, control costs, and maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage supplier relationships, and ensure proper ordering and storage of food, beverages, and supplies.
  • Uphold stringent health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally to ensure positive resolutions and build customer loyalty.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to ensure cleanliness, ambiance, and operational readiness.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop menus, promotions, and special events that enhance the dining experience.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including P&L statements, to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that encourages teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement among staff.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in restaurant management.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing and motivating teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and P&L analysis.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and POS systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and operational best practices.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing a restaurant with diverse culinary offerings.
  • Certification in Food Handling (e.g., Food Handler Certificate).
  • Experience working with international teams and adapting to diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., French, Mandarin, Spanish) is a significant asset in Toronto's multicultural environment.
