This includes assisting service users with their personal care routines, administering medication as prescribed and trained, conducting regular welfare checks, and providing emotional support or companionship as required. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support to service users during overnight hours.
  • Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, and toileting, as required and in a dignified manner.
  • Administer medication according to prescribed plans and company policy, following appropriate training.
  • Conduct regular welfare checks and monitor the well-being and safety of service users throughout the night.
  • Document observations, care provided, and any incidents accurately and thoroughly in care records.
  • Respond promptly and calmly to emergencies or unexpected situations, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a reassuring and comfortable environment.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised living environment for service users.
  • Adhere strictly to individual care plans, company policies, and relevant health and social care regulations.
  • Ensure effective communication and handover of information to the day team.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable empathy, patience, and compassion for others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and commitment.
  • Basic IT literacy for record-keeping and communication.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo or already possess PVG Scheme membership (Protection of Vulnerable Groups).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a night support worker role or similar care setting.
  • SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Experience with medication administration (with relevant training).
