Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and reliable Caretaker to join our residential property support team in Hydepark, Glasgow. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of common areas, internal and external grounds, identifying and reporting any maintenance or security issues promptly.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting.
- Manage waste disposal and recycling, ensuring bins are emptied regularly and areas are kept tidy.
- Oversee and monitor contractors on site, ensuring work is completed to required standards and health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of communal areas, including hallways, stairwells, lobbies, and amenity spaces.
- Respond to resident queries and concerns regarding property maintenance in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, conducting regular checks and maintaining relevant records.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including litter picking, leaf clearing, and basic garden upkeep.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and repair materials, reporting needs to management.
- Act as a visible and approachable point of contact for residents, fostering a positive community atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a caretaker, facilities assistant, or similar role within a residential or commercial property setting.
- Strong practical skills for undertaking minor repairs across various trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a property environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with residents and contractors.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., in trades, facilities management).
