Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Telecommunications Manager to join our dynamic team, based out of the iconic Absolute World Towers in Mississauga. This full-time, on-site role is pivotal in ensuring the robust, reliable, and secure operation of our entire telecommunications infrastructure. As a Telecommunications Manager, you will be instrumental in overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our voice, video, and data communication systems. You will lead strategic initiatives to enhance network performance, streamline operations, and introduce cutting-edge technologies that support our ambitious business goals.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all telecommunications infrastructure, including VoIP, unified communications, wireless networks, and data lines.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of new telecommunications systems and upgrades, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Oversee a team of telecommunications specialists, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Develop and manage the telecommunications budget, including forecasting, cost control, and procurement of equipment and services.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with telecommunications vendors and service providers, ensuring optimal service levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and compliance of all telecommunications systems with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive solutions to prevent outages and service disruptions.
- Stay abreast of emerging telecommunications technologies and trends, evaluating their potential application and impact on the organization.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies for telecommunications systems.
- Provide expert consultation and support to other departments on telecommunications-related issues and projects.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in telecommunications management.
- In-depth knowledge of VoIP, SIP, Unified Communications, and traditional PBX systems.
- Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP) and WAN/LAN technologies.
- Proven experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Solid understanding of telecommunications security best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCNA, CCNP, ITIL, or similar.
- Experience with cloud-based telephony solutions and SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with specific telecommunications platforms like Cisco UCM, Avaya Aura, or Microsoft Teams Voice.
- Experience in a large enterprise or multi-site environment.
