Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a diligent and customer-focused Hotel Porter to join our dedicated team in Rutherglen, Glasgow. As a Hotel Porter, you are the first point of contact for our valued guests, playing a pivotal role in shaping their overall experience from the moment they arrive until their departure. This is more than just a luggage-handling role; it’s about providing genuine Scottish hospitality, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring their stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Your day will be dynamic and engaging, involving everything from welcoming guests with a warm smile and assisting with their luggage to providing helpful information about our hotel services and local attractions in Glasgow. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet all arriving and departing guests, providing a memorable first and last impression.
  • Efficiently assist guests with luggage handling upon arrival and departure, ensuring safe and timely delivery to and from rooms.
  • Provide accurate and helpful information about hotel facilities, services, and local points of interest in Rutherglen and Glasgow.
  • Assist with car parking, taxi services, and direct guests to appropriate areas within the hotel.
  • Maintain a tidy and organised lobby, entrance, and public areas, ensuring a welcoming appearance.
  • Handle guest requests and inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues to appropriate departments.
  • Support other hotel departments as needed, including front desk, housekeeping, and concierge services.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the delivery of items to guest rooms, such as newspapers, mail, or special requests.
  • Operate and maintain hotel equipment such as luggage trolleys and vehicles (if applicable and licensed).

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Physical stamina to lift and carry luggage and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel or customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of local attractions and amenities in Rutherglen and Glasgow.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Full UK driving licence (useful for occasional valet or shuttle duties).
