Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report changes to nursing staff.
- Help patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a caring and respectful environment.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe patient environment, including changing linens and tidying rooms.
- Assist with intake and output measurements, specimen collection, and other basic medical procedures as directed.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and vital signs accurately and promptly.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Participate in care planning and team meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Required Skills
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Basic computer literacy for documentation.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
