Key Responsibilities

  • Perform physical labor at construction sites, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, such as drills, saws, and grinders.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles and staging areas.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) with various tasks.
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles, hazards, and debris.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth using appropriate tools and machinery.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and regulations at all times to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and construction drawings as needed for project tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work collaboratively with the construction team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a construction worker or in a similar manual labor role.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Physical strength, stamina, and manual dexterity for demanding tasks.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Basic mathematical skills for measurements and material calculations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Vocational training or apprenticeship in a construction trade.
  • Experience with specific heavy machinery operation (e.g., forklift, excavator, skid steer).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
