Key Responsibilities
- Assist bakers with the preparation of ingredients, including measuring, sifting, and mixing.
- Shape and proof dough for various bread and pastry items according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate and clean bakery equipment such as ovens, mixers, proofers, and other specialized tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout the shift, adhering strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Package and label finished baked goods efficiently for display, delivery, or retail sale.
- Support inventory management by assisting with stock rotation, receiving deliveries, and notifying supervisors of low supplies.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools as needed to ensure a continuous workflow.
- Learn and master basic baking techniques, recipes, and decorating skills under the guidance of senior bakers.
- Assist with customer service as needed, including taking orders, answering product questions, and serving products with a friendly demeanor.
- Ensure timely production schedules are met to guarantee freshness and availability of all baked goods.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for producing high-quality products.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety practices.
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the bakery's operational hours.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a warm, fast-paced environment.
