Your daily activities will involve processing monthly payroll cycles with precision, accurately calculating wages, deductions, and statutory payments such as PAYE, National Insurance, and various pension contributions. You will be instrumental in managing the lifecycle of employee records, from processing new starters and leavers to implementing changes to employee remuneration, ensuring all data is up-to-date and fully compliant with current regulations. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in reconciling payroll data against financial records, preparing detailed reports for internal financial analysis, auditing purposes, and external submissions, and providing essential support during year-end payroll procedures. Collaboration with HR and finance departments will be key to ensure seamless data flow, process alignment, and to contribute to a positive employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly payroll for all employees accurately and on time, adhering to strict deadlines.
- Calculate and administer statutory deductions including PAYE, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle within the payroll system, including new starters, leavers, and changes to remuneration or personal details.
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare comprehensive payroll reports for management, finance, and auditing purposes.
- Respond to and resolve payroll-related queries from employees and management in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC regulations, and company policies.
- Support year-end payroll procedures, including P60 and P11D reporting.
- Collaborate closely with HR and finance departments to ensure data consistency and process efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in end-to-end UK payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and pension schemes.
- Proficiency with industry-standard payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, ADP, or similar).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced).
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or working towards one.
- Experience with integrated HR and payroll systems.
- Knowledge of payroll best practices and process improvement methodologies.
