Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Manager – Clinical to lead our Black Creek, Toronto location. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations, with a strong emphasis on developing and implementing clinical pharmacy services that enhance patient care and outcomes. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory management, and patient consultations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical pharmacy programs, such as medication therapy management (MTM), chronic disease management, and immunization services.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all federal, provincial (Ontario), and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional practice standards.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for operational improvement and clinical service expansion.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinics, and community organizations to optimize patient care transitions and integrated health services.
  • Manage pharmacy budget, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost-effective strategies without compromising quality of care.
  • Conduct regular staff performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify professional development opportunities.
  • Resolve patient concerns and complex clinical inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects.

Required Skills

  • Current licensure as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A).
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-licensure experience as a Pharmacist, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practice, including MTM, pharmacotherapy, and patient counseling.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario pharmacy regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practice standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize operations, and drive performance.
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Pharm.D., MSc in Pharmacy) or specialized clinical residency training.
  • Experience with advanced scope of practice (e.g., prescribing for minor ailments, adapting prescriptions).
  • Certification in specific clinical areas (e.g., CDE, BCGP).
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to the Black Creek community.
  • Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a healthcare setting.
