Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, inventory management, and patient consultations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical pharmacy programs, such as medication therapy management (MTM), chronic disease management, and immunization services.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, provincial (Ontario), and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional practice standards.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for operational improvement and clinical service expansion.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, clinics, and community organizations to optimize patient care transitions and integrated health services.
- Manage pharmacy budget, optimize resource allocation, and implement cost-effective strategies without compromising quality of care.
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify professional development opportunities.
- Resolve patient concerns and complex clinical inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects.
Required Skills
- Current licensure as a Pharmacist with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A).
- Minimum of 7 years of post-licensure experience as a Pharmacist, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical pharmacy practice, including MTM, pharmacotherapy, and patient counseling.
- Strong understanding of Ontario pharmacy regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practice standards.
- Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, optimize operations, and drive performance.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (e.g., Pharm.D., MSc in Pharmacy) or specialized clinical residency training.
- Experience with advanced scope of practice (e.g., prescribing for minor ailments, adapting prescriptions).
- Certification in specific clinical areas (e.g., CDE, BCGP).
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the Black Creek community.
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies in a healthcare setting.
