Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Entry-Level Technology Business Analyst to join our growing team in the vibrant Old Town of Edinburgh. As an Entry-Level Technology Business Analyst, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, contributing to exciting projects that shape the future for our diverse client base.

In this role, you will be mentored by experienced Business Analysts and project managers, learning the ropes of requirement gathering, process analysis, and solution design. You will gain hands-on experience in understanding complex business challenges, translating them into clear, actionable technical specifications, and supporting the development and implementation of innovative software solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Business Analysts in gathering, documenting, and managing functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders through various techniques (interviews, workshops, surveys).
  • Participate in the analysis of existing business processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and potential efficiencies.
  • Help translate business requirements into clear and concise user stories, use cases, and process flows for development teams.
  • Support the creation of project documentation, including scope definitions, business requirement documents (BRDs), and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with development, testing, and project management teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) and system integration testing (SIT).
  • Contribute to presentations and reports for stakeholders, communicating insights and project progress.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and business analysis methodologies.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • A foundational understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and business domains.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for critical thinking and logical reasoning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Prior internship or project experience in a business analysis, IT, or consulting role.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of data analysis tools or techniques.
