Are you an experienced medical or scientific professional with a passion for bridging the gap between clinical research and patient care? Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and scientifically adept Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our growing team in Toronto. This pivotal role will be instrumental in fostering scientific exchange, building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and communicating complex scientific information regarding our innovative pharmaceutical products and therapeutic areas.
As an MSL, you will serve as a critical link, translating scientific advancements into actionable insights for the medical community. You will be responsible for providing accurate, balanced, and evidence-based medical and scientific information to healthcare professionals (HCPs), researchers, and managed care organizations. This involves deep engagement with KOLs, scientific investigators, and other relevant stakeholders to understand their needs, share valuable scientific knowledge, and gather crucial insights that can inform our research and development strategies.
The successful candidate will possess a profound understanding of clinical research, drug development processes, and the therapeutic landscape. You will proactively identify and engage with thought leaders, present scientific data at conferences, and facilitate investigator-initiated research (IIR) where appropriate. Your ability to distill complex scientific concepts into clear, concise, and compelling presentations will be paramount. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), researchers, and other healthcare professionals in relevant therapeutic areas.
- Serve as a scientific expert, delivering accurate, balanced, and unsolicited medical and scientific information to external stakeholders.
- Identify, develop, and execute scientific and medical projects aligned with corporate objectives and regional medical plans.
- Gather and report insights from the field to inform internal medical and commercial strategies.
- Attend and represent Hiring.zycto at scientific conferences, symposia, and investigator meetings.
- Facilitate investigator-initiated research (IIR) requests and provide scientific support as appropriate.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including clinical development, medical affairs, and commercial.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, clinical trial data, and treatment guidelines in relevant therapeutic areas.
- Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, legal standards, and company policies.
Required Skills
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, PA).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Profound understanding of drug development, clinical research, and scientific principles.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with KOLs.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex scientific data.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in specific therapeutic areas relevant to Hiring.zycto's portfolio (e.g., Oncology, Rare Diseases, Immunology, Neurology).
- Prior experience in launching new pharmaceutical products.
- Understanding of the Canadian healthcare system and regulatory environment.
- Published scientific work or presentations at medical conferences.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
