Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and carry out repairs on various machinery.
- Install, test, and commission new mechanical equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering diagrams.
- Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, operators, and other technicians to optimize system functionality.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and resolve issues under pressure.
- Order and manage spare parts and consumables for maintenance tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician or similar role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles and systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Experience with various hand and power tools relevant to mechanical work.
- Solid commitment to health and safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
