Job Description

Are you a seasoned technical leader passionate about orchestrating complex engineering initiatives and driving them to successful completion? Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Technical Program Manager to join our growing team in Toronto. In this pivotal role, you will be the linchpin connecting product vision with engineering execution, managing the entire lifecycle of critical technical programs across various domains such as platform infrastructure, data systems, or new product development. You will leverage your deep technical acumen and exceptional leadership skills to define program scope, manage dependencies, identify and mitigate risks, and communicate progress effectively to diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership. Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage end-to-end technical program plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and risk management for large-scale engineering initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, driving collaboration and alignment between engineering, product, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify, track, and resolve technical dependencies and roadblocks, proactively escalating issues and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and maintain clear communication channels, providing regular updates on program status, challenges, and successes to senior leadership.
  • Implement best practices for program management, advocating for process improvements and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to technical strategy, working with architects and engineering leads to ensure scalable and robust solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior program managers and project leads, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical program management within a software development or technology-focused environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs from concept to launch.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate risks, resolve conflicts, and drive decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Confluence) and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and distributed systems.
  • PMP, CSM, or other relevant program/project management certifications.
  • Prior experience as a software engineer or architect.
  • Familiarity with data analytics, machine learning, or cybersecurity programs.
