Job Description
Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Reliability Engineer – Manufacturing to join our innovative team in Toronto. This pivotal role is central to ensuring the optimal performance, longevity, and efficiency of our state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and equipment. As a Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and continually improving reliability strategies that minimize downtime, reduce operational costs, and enhance overall productivity. You will be a key driver in fostering a proactive maintenance culture, moving beyond reactive fixes to predictive and preventive methodologies.
Your day-to-day will involve complex problem-solving, leveraging advanced analytical tools and techniques to identify root causes of equipment failures and process deviations. You will design and implement robust reliability programs, including FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effect Analyses), RCAs (Root Cause Analyses), and CBM (Condition-Based Monitoring) systems. A significant aspect of this role is your ability to translate data into actionable insights, influencing design improvements, maintenance procedures, and operational best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, quality, and engineering, to ensure seamless integration of reliability principles across the entire manufacturing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize reliability strategies, programs, and procedures for manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Conduct advanced Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on chronic and critical equipment failures, identifying sustainable solutions.
- Lead Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) sessions to proactively identify potential failure points and mitigation strategies.
- Design and implement Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
- Analyze reliability data, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and other key performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to integrate reliability principles into new equipment design and existing processes.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance staff.
- Manage critical reliability improvement projects from initiation to completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in all reliability initiatives.
- Develop and deliver training programs on reliability best practices.
Required Skills
- Expertise in reliability engineering principles and methodologies (RCA, FMEA, RCM, CBM).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in statistical analysis tools.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment (e.g., PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment).
- Proficiency in CMMS/EAM software (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo, Oracle EAM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Project management skills with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with IoT and Industry 4.0 applications in reliability.
- Experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing environments.
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
