Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks, including mowing, edging, strimming, and blowing.
- Conduct planting, weeding, pruning, and mulching of flowerbeds, shrubberies, and trees.
- Operate and maintain a range of landscape machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Undertake litter picking, sweeping, and general site tidiness.
- Carry out minor landscaping works, such as turfing, path clearance, and basic repairs.
- Monitor the health of plants and report any signs of disease or pest infestation.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with seasonal tasks, including leaf clearance, gritting, and snow removal when required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
- Proficiency in operating various landscape equipment (mowers, strimmers, blowers).
- Strong knowledge of plant care, horticultural practices, and weed identification.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Understanding of health and safety procedures related to grounds work.
- Valid UK Driving License.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent.
- PA1/PA6 Spraying Certificates (Pesticide Application).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with advanced landscaping techniques.
- Demonstrable experience leading small teams or projects.
