Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, verifying against purchase orders and packing slips for accuracy and quality.
- Efficiently store materials and products in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper stacking and accessibility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system (WMS), performing regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Prepare and stage outgoing shipments, including picking, packing, and labelling items according to dispatch schedules and customer requirements.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and proficiently, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Ensure the warehouse floor is kept clean, organised, and free from hazards, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Assist with periodic physical inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Report any damaged goods, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisory staff promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with other warehouse team members, drivers, and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to material handling, storage, and safety.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Operative, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control procedures.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory software.
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
