Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Painter to join our thriving construction team on various projects located in and around Nuthall, Nottingham. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing and applying paints, varnishes, and other finishes with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various surfaces (walls, ceilings, woodwork, metal) for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, priming, and filling cracks/holes.
- Mix paints and other materials to exact specifications, ensuring correct color matching and consistency.
- Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, achieving a smooth and even coat.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring flawless application and attention to detail.
- Erect scaffolding or ladders as necessary, ensuring safe working practices at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing and disposing of materials.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies on all construction sites.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Painter in a construction or commercial setting.
- Proficiency in various painting techniques (brush, roller, spray).
- Excellent knowledge of surface preparation and finishing methods.
- Strong understanding of paint types, materials, and their applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and quality.
- Solid understanding of health and safety procedures on a construction site.
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform manual tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting and Decorating.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Full UK driving license with access to own transport.
- Experience with specialist coatings or decorative finishes.
