Job Description

Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join our passionate kitchen brigade in Penarth, Cardiff. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a specific kitchen section (e.g., larder, hot section, pastry) ensuring consistent quality and output.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to company recipes and standards, under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and health and safety at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management for your section.
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
  • Contribute to menu development and specials, bringing creative ideas and culinary expertise.
  • Ensure efficient use of ingredients to minimise waste and control costs.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of food items.
  • Collaborate effectively with all kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth service.
  • Carry out daily cleaning tasks and ensure your section is always immaculate.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie looking for advancement.
  • Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a passion for food quality and presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (HACCP).
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new techniques and cuisines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in a fine dining or rosette-awarded establishment.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Proficiency in Welsh language (advantageous but not essential).
