Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of various mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Prepare and organize tools, parts, and materials for workshop tasks and field service operations.
- Perform routine checks, cleaning, and basic preventative maintenance on machinery and workshop facilities.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, inventory, and completed tasks.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and company policies within the workshop.
- Support in the assembly and testing of new equipment or fabricated components.
- Assist with general workshop upkeep, including tidiness and organisation.
- Provide logistical support for equipment and material movements.
Required Skills
- Proven practical experience in a workshop or industrial setting (minimum 2 years).
- Solid understanding of basic mechanical principles and hand tools.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and schematics accurately.
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for record-keeping.
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for hands-on work.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with specific workshop machinery (e.g., lathes, milling machines, welding equipment).
- Forklift license or experience operating similar material handling equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical fault finding.
- Full UK driving license.
