Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated premises, both internally and externally, to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or damage.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly and appropriately to any suspicious activity or alerts.
- Control access points, verifying credentials, and maintaining accurate logs of visitors and vehicles.
- Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches, following established protocols.
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily log entries, documenting observations, activities, and irregularities.
- Enforce site rules and regulations fairly and consistently.
- Liaise effectively with management, emergency services, and staff during incidents or routine operations.
- Undertake bag and vehicle searches as required, in accordance with site procedures.
- Provide a visible deterrent to crime and act as a reassuring presence for staff and visitors.
- Ensure the safety and security of all personnel and assets on site during assigned shifts.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license
- Proven experience in a security role (minimum 2 years)
- Excellent observational and communication skills
- Ability to write clear and concise reports
- Strong understanding of security procedures and protocols
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
- Physical fitness to conduct regular patrols and stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work both day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid at Work certification
- CCTV Operator license
- Experience with access control systems and alarm monitoring software
- Previous experience in a corporate or commercial security environment
- Full UK driving license with access to own transport
