Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient IT Technician specializing in Hardware Setup & Troubleshooting to join our dynamic team in Belfast. This critical role is the backbone of our operational efficiency, ensuring all our hardware infrastructure is robust, reliable, and performs optimally. As an IT Technician, you will be the first point of contact for hardware-related issues, ranging from desktop PCs and laptops to printers, servers, and network devices. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform initial setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware failures, network connectivity issues, and software conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Execute repairs, replacements, and upgrades of hardware components (e.g., RAM, hard drives, motherboards, graphics cards).
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, macOS) and essential business applications.
  • Provide technical support to end-users via in-person, phone, and remote assistance, resolving issues efficiently.
  • Manage hardware inventory, asset tracking, and ensure proper documentation of all IT-related processes and incidents.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff on network infrastructure maintenance and server room management tasks.
  • Ensure data backup integrity and security protocols are adhered to across all managed devices.
  • Proactively identify hardware trends and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance system performance and reliability.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in hardware setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, including installation and configuration.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
  • Familiarity with various office software suites (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with server hardware and basic server administration.
  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices for service management.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or similar.
  • Experience with remote desktop tools and IT ticketing systems.
