Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Learn to identify, cut, and bend wires and conduit, following blueprints or instructions.
- Prepare and clean work sites, ensuring all tools and materials are organized and readily available.
- Handle and transport tools, materials, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Help troubleshoot electrical systems and identify potential issues.
- Perform general labour duties as assigned to support the electrical team.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper disposal of waste.
- Eagerly learn from experienced electricians and actively participate in all training opportunities.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding of safety practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various conditions (e.g., heights, confined spaces).
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within Toronto.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience with basic hand tools or power tools (even in a non-professional setting).
- Enrollment or completion of a pre-apprenticeship electrical program is a plus, but not required.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
