Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Concrete Laborers in the Niagara Falls area. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with little to no prior experience in concrete work, as we are committed to providing comprehensive on-the-job training to help you develop the skills needed to excel. As a Concrete Laborer, you will be an essential part of our crew, assisting with various stages of concrete pouring, finishing, and repair projects. You’ll contribute to the creation of durable structures and surfaces that are critical to our infrastructure and community. This role requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to safety and teamwork. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of concrete forms, rebar, and subgrades according to project specifications.
  • Help with mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete, ensuring proper consistency and distribution.
  • Learn and assist in finishing concrete surfaces using various tools and techniques (e.g., troweling, floating).
  • Support the team in stripping forms and cleaning tools and equipment after concrete sets.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently on job sites.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Perform general labour duties as assigned, including excavation, demolition, and site clean-up.

Required Skills

  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced crew members.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous tasks.
  • Excellent reliability and punctuality, understanding the importance of teamwork.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety principles (training will be provided).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment, adapting to various weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in any construction or physically demanding role (even if not concrete-specific).
  • Valid G-class driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across the Niagara Region.
  • Awareness of basic hand and power tools used in construction.
  • WHMIS and Working at Heights certifications (or willingness to obtain them quickly).
