This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with little to no prior experience to learn the fundamental skills of fence installation, construction, and outdoor craftsmanship from experienced professionals. As an Entry Level Fencer, you’ll be an integral part of our crew, assisting in all aspects of fence construction, from preparing the site to the final installation. You’ll learn about various fencing materials, proper construction techniques, and essential safety protocols. This role demands physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to teamwork. Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced fencers with the installation of various types of fences (wood, chain link, vinyl, ornamental).
- Help with site preparation, including digging post holes, clearing debris, and measuring/marking layouts.
- Learn to use and maintain a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage on job sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools are accounted for.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to high standards.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as required.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team atmosphere.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Basic understanding of safety protocols or a willingness to learn quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or outdoor labor is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
