Job Description

Are you a seasoned Fleet Manager with a passion for operational excellence and a knack for meticulous planning? Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and proactive individual to take the helm of our fleet operations in Leicester. This pivotal role requires an expert in vehicle maintenance, compliance, and staff scheduling, someone who can ensure our fleet runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely, all while optimising our operational costs and environmental footprint.

As our Fleet Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our transportation strategy. You’ll be entrusted with the end-to-end management of our diverse fleet, ranging from light commercial vehicles to HGVs. Your day-to-day will involve hands-on oversight of all vehicle maintenance schedules, ensuring preventative measures are rigorously followed, and repairs are executed swiftly and cost-effectively, minimising downtime. You will leverage your comprehensive understanding of automotive mechanics and diagnostics to make informed decisions, often liaising with external garages and internal maintenance teams.

Beyond the mechanics, a critical aspect of this role is the strategic scheduling and deployment of our driving staff. You will develop robust scheduling systems that ensure optimal route planning, driver availability, and adherence to working time directives, maximising efficiency while prioritising employee well-being. Your expertise will be crucial in forecasting staffing needs, managing driver compliance, and fostering a positive, productive work environment for our driving team.

Ensuring regulatory compliance will be paramount. You will be responsible for maintaining all necessary licenses, permits, and certifications for both vehicles and drivers, staying abreast of the latest DVSA, VOSA, and environmental regulations. Your commitment to safety will drive our operational standards, implementing best practices and conducting regular audits to mitigate risks.

This isn’t just a management role; it’s an opportunity to drive significant impact. You will be instrumental in fleet procurement, asset management, and the implementation of telematics and other technology solutions to enhance performance. We are looking for a leader who can inspire a team, negotiate effectively with suppliers, and consistently seek out innovative ways to improve our fleet’s reliability, cost-efficiency, and sustainability. If you’re ready to steer a dynamic operation and contribute to the strategic growth of Hiring.zycto, we encourage you to apply.
