A Traffic Control Person (TCP) plays an absolutely critical role in maintaining safety and order on construction sites, road maintenance projects, and special events across our vibrant city. Key Responsibilities
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction and maintenance sites using proper signage, flagging techniques, and hand signals.
- Set up and maintain traffic control zones, including placing cones, barricades, and signs according to safety regulations and work zone plans.
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and the public to ensure clear understanding of traffic flow changes.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust control methods as necessary to maintain safety and efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, provincial traffic control regulations, and Occupational Health and Safety Act guidelines.
- Report any safety hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with the public.
