Key Responsibilities
- Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, digging, and grading.
- Assist in setting up and tearing down traffic control devices and safety signage.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., shovels, rakes, brooms, tampers, saws).
- Spread and level asphalt, gravel, and other aggregates according to specifications.
- Assist with the operation of paving machinery and equipment under supervision.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas daily.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure project completion on schedule and to quality standards.
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Effective team player with good communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in paving, asphalt, or general construction labour.
- Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
- Valid G driver's license with a clean driving record.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Working at Heights training.
