Job Description
The Heavy Equipment Spotter plays a critical, hands-on role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery on our construction sites. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to begin a career in the construction industry, offering comprehensive training and a clear path for professional development. As a Spotter, you will be the eyes and ears for our equipment operators, guiding large machinery such as excavators, cranes, loaders, and bulldozers through complex and congested work areas. Your keen observational skills and clear communication will prevent accidents, protect personnel, and maintain the integrity of our projects.
Your daily tasks will involve direct communication with operators using hand signals, radios, and verbal cues to direct equipment movement, ensuring adequate clearance from other machinery, structures, and personnel. You will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, marking safe zones, and actively monitoring the work environment for any changes that could impact safety. This role demands constant vigilance, excellent spatial awareness, and a proactive approach to safety protocols. You will work closely with site supervisors and other team members, contributing to a cohesive and high-performing site crew.
Hiring.zycto is dedicated to fostering a culture of safety first, providing all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and ongoing safety training.
