You will be responsible for setting up machines, feeding raw materials, overseeing the operational cycle, and conducting routine checks to ensure machinery functions optimally and products meet our stringent quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery according to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers to meet production schedules.
  • Load and unload materials and products from machinery, ensuring efficient material flow.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles and general housekeeping standards.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Record production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance operational skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or factory setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and safety protocols.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Physical dexterity and stamina to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for data recording and comprehension of work orders.
  • Reliability and punctuality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline.
  • Experience with specific machinery such as CNC, injection moulding, or automated assembly lines.
  • Forklift truck license (Counterbalance or Reach).
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • First Aid certification.
