Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery according to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine machine setups, adjustments, and changeovers to meet production schedules.
- Load and unload materials and products from machinery, ensuring efficient material flow.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and inspections, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles and general housekeeping standards.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic preventative maintenance tasks.
- Record production data, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve production targets.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance operational skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing or factory setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions and safety protocols.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physical dexterity and stamina to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for data recording and comprehension of work orders.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline.
- Experience with specific machinery such as CNC, injection moulding, or automated assembly lines.
- Forklift truck license (Counterbalance or Reach).
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- First Aid certification.
