Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a wide range of plumbing issues, including leaks, blockages, and system malfunctions.
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, fixtures, and other plumbing components in residential and commercial properties.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections of plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining technical issues and solutions to clients.
- Order, manage, and track inventory of plumbing parts, tools, and equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing call-outs and provide effective, timely solutions.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to plan and execute plumbing installations and repairs.
- Ensure all work sites are kept clean, organised, and safe throughout the duration of the project.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installations.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent practical skills and proficiency with plumbing tools and equipment.
- Valid UK driving license with a clean record.
- Thorough knowledge of current Scottish Water bylaws, plumbing codes, and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas Safe registration (if applicable to specific tasks involving gas appliances).
- Experience with commercial and industrial plumbing systems.
- Advanced fault-finding capabilities and experience with complex heating systems.
- Certifications in specific plumbing technologies (e.g., unvented hot water cylinders).
- First Aid certification.
