Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a diligent and energetic Property Maintenance Worker to join our team for a seasonal period, contributing to the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of various properties situated around the vibrant Mill Street area in Toronto. This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining immaculate environments, and possesses a strong work ethic. As a key member of our seasonal maintenance crew, you will perform a variety of tasks essential to ensuring our properties remain welcoming, safe, and visually appealing for residents, visitors, and tenants. Your day-to-day will be dynamic, covering everything from meticulous groundskeeping to minor repairs and general site cleanliness. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general groundskeeping duties including lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, and leaf blowing.
- Planting and maintaining flowers, shrubs, and other landscape elements as directed.
- Conducting minor repairs to property features such as fences, gates, benches, and pathways.
- Ensuring cleanliness of all common areas, pathways, and parking lots by sweeping, litter picking, and waste removal.
- Operating and maintaining various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Assisting with seasonal property preparations and closures, including winterization tasks if applicable.
- Reporting any major maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assisting with the setup and dismantling of outdoor amenities or event spaces as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in general property maintenance, landscaping, or a related field.
- Ability to operate basic landscaping and maintenance equipment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and prolonged standing/walking in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of property appearance.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, cooperative attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G-Class Ontario Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of basic horticulture and plant care.
- Experience with snow removal equipment or techniques (if extending into colder seasons).
- First Aid and WHMIS certification.
