Your day-to-day will involve assisting with the setup, dismantling, and maintenance of various types of formwork structures used for pouring concrete. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly and dismantling of concrete formwork systems under supervision.
- Move and transport materials, tools, and equipment safely around the job site.
- Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Support skilled carpenters in setting up and stripping various types of forms.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all site safety regulations and company procedures.
- Perform general site cleanup and maintenance tasks as directed.
- Handle and place rebar according to specifications and guidance.
- Assist with concrete pours, including spreading and leveling concrete.
- Follow instructions diligently from supervisors and experienced team members.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and follow instructions precisely.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety or a strong willingness to learn immediately.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
- First Aid and CPR certification (an asset, but not required to start).
- WHMIS certification (can be obtained on the job with company support).
- Basic knowledge of common hand and power tools used in construction.
